Have you ever wondered why some people can still be skinny as a bone even if they eat like a hungry bear at most of the time? It is not a mystery anymore if you know the real reason behind it. This is all because each individual have varied metabolic rates. It can sound a little unfair but that doesn’t mean if you are always thin that you are healthy. Many serious diseases and bad health condition such as high cholesterol level, heart diseases et cetera can affect them just as easily as a person with a little more flesh on their bones. Furthermore, thin people are more prone to get anemia than a person who is with an average weight.
So, you see, metabolism plays a very important role in affecting a person’s body shape and weight. But this should not be your reason to give up just like that because metabolism can be developed gradually through healthy eating and exercise.
Putting aside genetic factors, there are many other determinant factors of metabolic rate. If genetically you have quite a low metabolic rate, you should then place more emphasis towards determinants like eating habits, exercise and muscle building. Besides that, if you are still in your young age, you should consider building up your metabolic rate now before you get older, because metabolism is also affected by age group. It decreases as you age. Basically, infant, children and teenagers have more growth hormones that are active in their stage of life that contributes to higher metabolic rate. Metabolism is also affected by gender. Naturally, men have a higher metabolic rate compared to females because of their testosterone level exists in men.
The answer is a simple possible yes. You should exercise regularly and do lightweight training every other day because muscles really help in increasing metabolic rate. You should also alternate it with light cardio exercises as well and it is best to do it when you are free and comfortable to avoid the stress. Three to five times a week is a good interval. Take some time to learn and look for food that can increase metabolism like green tea and chilies. Eating in small portion of healthy food every 3 hours or so.
Have some faith in yourself, be disciplined and determined. If thing still doesn’t work out just as you plan, there maybe things that you’ve missed out. If you are just a little over the border and doesn’t have obesity problem, there is no real need to result to slimming center or beauty houses for weight loss. However, occasional medical check up is necessary and it should be a good way to access your health condition from time to time.
