Osteoporosis is a deadly and a silent disease, a killer of over time. People may not usually die of Osteoporosis but once you had it, the pain may be unbearable over a period of time.

It is not easy to detect on your own if you have osteoporosis or not. but you will know that you’re at risk if you are getting older, have a family history of osteoporosis, being petite, being a white or asian woman ( these are the two ethnic that are diagnosed with high risk of osteoporosis), or better yet consult a doctor for a thorough medical check up. If your doctor thinks you’re at risk, he will have you run on a few medical diagnosis such as the bone density test. It is a quick, safe and painless test so there are no worries.
Osteoporosis is also a highly genetically related disease, but that’s not all the reason to give up hope. Make sure you keep your bone strong by getting enough nutrition such as calcium, Vitamin D, do moderate exercise and avoid smoking and alcohol. You can get supplement at a young age with the prescription of a professional physician. Keep your bone strong and healthy for a better tomorrow.
